Competition Rounds
Rounds one and two. Relaxed and compulsory poses are combined.
Poses will be:
- Front relaxed followed by front double biceps and lat spread
- 1/4 turn to the right, relaxed. Followed by side chest, side tricep and side oblique pose.
- 1/4 turn to the right, back to judges, relaxed. Followed by rear double bicep and rear lat spread showing a calf. (Possible double calf shot may be asked for)
- 1/4 turn to the right, relaxed. Followed by side chest, side tricep and side oblique.
- 1/4 turn to face judges, relaxed. Followed by abs, thigh and most muscular.
- PLEASE NOTE - There may be a double triceps pose asked for at the Europeans and World Championships.
Poses as per mens classes.
Poses will be:
- Quarter turns
- Compulsory poses: front & rear victory pose, side ballet pose - both sides, abdominal & thighs
- Free posing round (this round makes up part of the overall score)
The 'moon pose' is banned.
Men - The act of pulling trunks up during rear poses is not permitted.
All competitors are welcome to view judges score sheets and on request to the EPF in writing will be supplied a copy of that score sheet. Please supply a self addressed, stamped envelope.
*Any threatening behavior or abusive comments made to officials and judges will be dealt with according to the current law of the land.

Please Note:
Winning a class does not automatically qualify competitors a place in the EPF team. Officials will choose on the day or notify a competitor on the following day wether he or she has gained a place on the team. We are a small federation so therefore must choose our strongest team with whatever budget we have. As our federation grows so will our budget to send larger teams.
All competitors must be current members and must bring their membership card to the contest.
All entries must be submitted in advance. All entries to be submitted two weeks before contest date.
Please note: entering on the day will only be permitted under special circumstances and by permission of the promoters only.
Junior and senior competitors must produce evidence of age. Driving licence, passport or birth certificate will be accepted only.
- Juniors must be under the age of 23 on the day of the contest.
- Seniors must be over the age of 40 on the day of the contest.
- First timers must not have entered any other bodybuilding contests
A competitor may only enter one class.
The winner of the first timers class will be given the option to enter a weight class in order to compete for a place on the EPF team. This is permitted because there is no first timers class at the European or World Championships.
PLEASE NOTE - Former World Champions may enter European and World Championships without having to qualify at National Championships, providing they pay for all expenses incurred ie: hotel, airfare etc.
EPF shows are open to UK residents only
Mens under 65kg / under 75kg / under 85kg / under 95kg / over 95 kg
Ladies categories.
Ladies physique / ladies trained figure. Both categories are open classes but winners may choose a weight category for physique and short / tall class for trained figure when entering the world or European championships.
Please note the following:
Ladies physique will be judged using the same criteria as the mens bodybuilding categories.
Trained figure will be judged on muscle tone without extreme muscularity and definition.
There will be an overall ladies and mens class.
All physique catergories are judged on the basis of symmetry, muscularity and definition.
Competitors exhibiting the signs of synthol use will down marked.
The presidents and committee of the epf place no restrictions on epf members and national champions entering other shows.
All epf members are free to enter any show that they wish. * afterall it is your physique not ours!
Ladies are permitted to wear any colour bikini style costume. G string or thongs are allowed but must promote decency at all times.
Jewellery is permitted in the form of ear rings, rings or belly button piercing. No other form of jewellery is allowed.
Men must wear professional posing trunks.
Shorts, swimmimg trunks and g. String or posing pouches are not allowed.
Jewellery is not permitted for men. Wedding rings are allowed.
* All posing costumes to promote decency at all times.
Both men and ladies categories may use props.
Please note: all props used must be safe for the competitor to use and must pose no danger to the audience.
The EPF and its presidents do not accept liabilty for the misuse of props
Dream tan is allowed.
Please note: all competitors wearing dream tan or any other tanning solution must take care not to get tan on fixtures and fittings of the contest venue. Any person disregarding this rule will be banned by the EPF and will be charged a cleaning fee.
